Program areas at Ariannas Center
Arianna's Center in Fort Lauderdale provided essential healthcare services to the transgender community in 2023, including HIV testing for 159 individuals, with 61 linked to ongoing HIV care, 43 connected with PrEP for HIV prevention, and 26 supported with PEP. Additionally, the center offered legal assistance in 17 immigration cases and English language classes for 15 individuals. Access to Hormone Replacement Therapy was facilitated for 20 individuals, while housing solutions were secured for 48, with emergency accommodations funds provided to 23 during crises. The April/Advocacy Project empowered 120 individuals through scholarships, grassroots leadership support, and grant writing assistance. Despite legislative challenges in Florida impacting transgender rights, Arianna's Center continued its vital name change program, aiding 40 individuals in legal name and gender marker changes, a beacon of progress amidst adversity. Overall, these efforts exemplify the Center's commitment to serving and empowering the transgender community in Fort Lauderdale, promoting inclusivity and equality. In Puerto Rico, Arianna's Center similarly had a successful year in 2023, empowering 230 individuals, including 151 with transgender and gender non-conforming identities. The center conducted 130 HIV tests, linking 42 to HIV care, assisting 30 with PrEP, and supporting 17 with PEP. Additionally, Hormone Replacement Therapy was provided to 33 individuals, and legal name changes facilitated for 36 through the name change program. The center's representative participated in the Miss International Queen pageant, showcasing the community's pride and visibility on the global stage.
