The organization was active in several ballot measure issues. The organization successfully challenged a measure designed to radically overhaul our election system and determined that the measure failed to have enough signatures to qualify for the ballot. The organization also supported a measure to establish universal Voter ID requirements in Arizona. The organization worked to successfully pass ballot measures that increased the threshold to raise taxes in Arizona, limit future ballot measures to a single subject and reformed our property tax system. The organization also successfully worked to defeat a tax increase for fire districts.
The organization rapidly expanded our grassroots operations, growing to over 13,000 activists throughout the state. The grassroots hosted several video calls, meetings, events, lunches and a day at the legislature to educate voters on issues and provide assistance to engage their lawmakers at the legislature. The organization also hosted the Keep AZ Free Summit to promote citizen engagement and activism in Arizona. The organization also engaged in litigation to protect taxpayers, winning a lawsuit in the State Supreme Court upholding the 2.5% flat tax.
The organization was active at the legislature promoting election integrity, resulting in the passage of legislation ensuring that only US citizens can vote and passed legislation implementing comprehensive voter roll maintenance. The organization also promoted educational opportunities and worked toward passing universal school choice in Arizona. The organization was also very active in opposing special interest giveaways and corporate welfare, including tax subsidies for the movie industry.
