Program areas at Arizona Helping Hands
Arizona Helping Hands is the largest provider of basic essentials for the foster community throughout Arizona. In fye 06/30/2023 we provided: 6,153 children with a bed or crib, clothing, diapers and more. 3,324 children received backpacks filled with school supplies. 4,066 personalized birthday gifts were given and 804 children received their own footlocker to store personal possessions. Additionally, 1,286 foster and kinship families were supplied safety items to become licensed foster families, and holidays were celebrated for thousands.in february of 2023 we changed the format of our direct service model, which was previously an appointment based system allowing us to serve at most 8-12 clients a day with appointment slots (cont'd on sch o) being booked 2 months out. We realized this was not creating access for our clients and so we launched a new model with open "retail" hours m-f. This has tripled the number of clients we are serving each day with our highest day seeing 78 kids served with basic essentials.
