During fy23, Arkansas Children's Research Institute (acri) received $18.6 million from the national institutes of health (nih) to support Research to advance knowledge that will guide the way injury and illness are prevented and treated in children. New nih-supported awards included an $11.5 million, 5-year grant to fund further improvements to the existing infrastructure and ensure development of junior scientists in acri's center for translational pediatric Research. The center uses proteogenomic approaches to identify epigenomic mechanisms and therapeutic targets in diseases, including cancer, impacting or translatable to the pediatric population. Overall, acri provided the Research infrastructure to over 120 researchers who published their scientific findings in over 330 peer-reviewed scientific journal articles, of which 20.6% of the publications appeared in the top 10% ranking journals.
