Program areas at Arkansas United
Our bridge building between immigrants and policymakers during the pandemic resulted in 6 DACAlaws that make Arkansas one of the most welcome states to immigrants on work visas and put themon equal footing with their citizen peers for professional licenses, in state tuition state scholarships. In 2023, we promoted & worked along public agencies in the implementation of those laws! Our navigators and Community Health Workers organized vaccine clinics in rural communities, combatted the disinformation in our community regarding COVID and the vaccines, and receivedtrainings and tools to start creating positive change in their communities. We repurposed our navigator network to address Arkansass labor shortage and hosted 20+ focusgroups with immigrant workers and employers to inform a 10 year strategic plan centered aroundinclusion of immigrants in workforce development, improving recruitment and growth systems and improving long term worker-employer relations. We launched an Asian American Pacific Islander Caucus to extend integration and leadershipdevelopment to the AAPI diaspora in Arkansas. Government officials and law enforcement from over a dozen Arkansas cities participated in Welcoming Week 2022 to learn how to launch programs for municipal IDs, U Visas, and Spanishdriving law classes in their cities.
