Program areas at AMP

In 2023, AMP served 400 individual youth struggling with the trauma of homelessness, providing music and art education, meals, social services, and supportive mentoring. For many homeless youth, having consistent and regular contact with artist and musician mentors provides a sense of belonging and worthiness. AMP mentors and volunteers provided 13,000 engagement hours ensuring youth have access to a safe space during high risk evening hours.
AMP hosted two live Youth Music Showcases, where youth shared their musical talents, stories, and accomplishments with over 100 community members. The AMP Showcase is a testament to the healing power of art and music, as well as the profound impact that a supportive community can have on the lives of homeless youth. To encourage youth to continue to express themselves creatively, AMP provides select beneficiaries of the program with musical instruments to keep. In 2023, AMP provided the following instruments to youth: Guitars - 5; Ukuleles - 5; Keyboards - 1; Amplifier - 1; Drum pads and sticks - 12.
In 2023, AMP served 10,000 meals and delivered 500 pounds of nutritious food through our weekly food pantry to AMP students and food insecure community members. AMP partners with local restaurants, volunteers, and community partners to supply food and meals for our program.
