Program areas at ArtistYear

Artistyear's 2023-24 school year was successful and impactful with 50 full-time resident teaching artists (rtas) serving as americorps members in 38 title i schools in 7 rural and urban school districts, including: philadelphia, pa; new york city, ny; denver, co; central north carolina (moore, lee, and chatham counties). While we await the final school year data and analysis, we are pleased to report that rtas served 11,995 students providing more than 60,000 hours of arts instruction and creative learning and made a significant positive impact on their school communities. 61% of Artistyear rtas added an art form or specialization that would not have existed in their school without Artistyear. Rtas created 75 community arts events engaging 5,422 audience members, 124 arts & culture assemblies, and 54 arts clubs. Artistyear spent the 2023-24 school year refining organizational operations and programming to strengthen our programming, increase rta recruitment, and prepared Artistyear for ongoing expansion. Artistyear employs an efficient staffing and strong governance model to ensure that we are spending the bulk of our financial and human resources on program implementation and evaluation.
