Artshack Brooklyn

The organization runs a community ceramics studio, gallery, and cafe. Through donations and grants, the organization subsidizes classes and memberships to individuals. In 2023, the organization expanded its scholarship program to include the following full or heavily subsidized scholarships: 930 public school students; 130 visually impaired seniors; 500 Brooklyn residents during their monthly community clay days; 65 campers during school breaks and holidays; 126 bipoc adults; 42 after-school students; and 2 studio members. The organization is a staple in the artist community. They sponsored 5 artists-in-residence in 2023 where these artists were able to produce work, showcase it in their keepsake gallery, and teach on community clay days. The holiday sale that is held every november and december, as well as the autumn equinox fundraiser also support these programs. In addition, the Artshack cafe was open for its first full year. Artshack cafe is one of the very few ocean-friendly certified establishments in Brooklyn, that services coffee, tea, wine and food on ceramics made at Artshack with a menu curated by chef silvia barban.
