Program areas at Asian Childrens Mission
Asian Children's Mission (ACM), supports two -2- children's homes in Myanmar (Burma). The face of orphans in this country is varied and complicated. We have children from 4 years old to 18 years old and provide them with the best care and support possible. They have come to us through death of a parent or parents, addiction, food insecurity and neglect. Some parents in very remote areas, send their children to orphanages to secure an education and hence a better life. We are concerned with providing nutrient dense foods and teach sustainable ways to accomplish this. Education of the children is provided outside the public school system with a desire to see opportunities that far exceed the expectations. Our 13 staff members have embraced these children as their own and seek to love and guide them as parents. Currently we have 76 children in our 2 homes, "Hope Children's Home" in Hmawbi (near Yangon) and "Loving Fountain Children's Home" in Myitkyina (in the northern Kachin State). ACM provides housing, food, education (including English language classes), trauma therapy, and LOVE.
Asian Children's Mission (ACM) has a school for disabled children, known as Joshua School, in Mandalay (central Myanmar). We work hard to provide education and therapy for children in Myanmar who never knew there was hope and better life. Through our program we develop families that see their children in a different light. We have gone to great lengths to provide excellent teacher training and to purchase equipment that will make our program successful. We have seen great growth in our students and look to the future for more. ACM has plans for a second special children's school, Joshua School II, next to "Hope Children's Home" in southern Myanmar.
Asian Children's Mission (ACM) began with a focus on education and protection of children. To date ACM has opened 6 preschools and 3 remote learning schools, educating and carrying for more than 220 children. Our goal is to prepare children for kindergarten and to love and guide them in those early years of life. Along with education, we provide breakfast and lunch as well as support for the families in need.
See Schedule O. Relief assistance in Myanmar. Asian Children's Mission in-country staff works side by side with other non-profits to assist and protect the refugees and displaced people groups of Myanmar. There is a high need for resettlement, food, clothing and HOPE. ACM helps to build homes, plant crops, provide schools and food for thousands fleeing throughout the country. In 2021 we were able to assist over 1750 adults and CHILDREN.
