Program areas at Asociacion Kantaya
The Podera Teaching Assistant Program has benefitted from the grant by developing an educational loan program that was launched during 2023, launched a program of scholarships for Venezuelan immigrants in Peru, and through strengthening the commercial and marketing strategy in digital media, training ambassadors and forming alliances with pre-K, schools and city halls to increase the number of trainees. Podera is further developing an employability program in alliance with schools to facilitate the application to meaningful jobs for Podera alumni. Satisfaction of students with the program is outstanding, with surveys showing 90%+ positive reviews of alumni on value of the program and personal empowerment.
The grant has been used to directly support the gratuitous education of 50 children in Kantaya Peru's After School Program. the concrete benefits of such education are the significant improvement of reading and learning capabilities, mathematics and emotional development of children attending the Kantaya After School Program, as compared to children of the same grade in public school.
