Program areas at Assistance League of Greater Wilmington
Operation school bell (osb)serves 44 schools in the tri-county (new hanover, brunswick, and pender counties)of north carolina. Clothing, backpacks, hygiene kits, school supplies, books, school nurse supplies and snacks are provided to the schools. Middle school students participate in a shopping event for students and their parents to shop for clothing and school supplies. The snack pack program provides healthy snacks and box drinks that are distributed to schools. Each osb school receives books for every third grader to choose a book to read and keep.
Operation scholar support program - Assistance League of Greater Wilmington provides scholarships to benefit students at brunswick community college (brunswick county), cape fear community college (new hanover county), and the watson college of education at the university of north carolina Wilmington.
Links to learning is grant award program for educators of new hanover, brunswick, and pender counties. These awards are dedicated to supplement the students education by aiding educators to enhance curriculum and learning experiences.
Operation its in the bag is a redistribution program that provides items, donated to our thrift shop but not sold, to other philanthropic facilities and programs.
Operation teddy bears - teddy bears are distributed to children receiving treatment and services at medical facilities or from emergency service agencies in brunswick, new hanover, and pender counties.
Operation seniors - programs include entertainment, social activities, snacks, seasonal decor, meals and household supplies.
Operation secu family house at novant health, Wilmington - members provide seasonal meals, snacks, and furnishings for family members of patients.
Operation tender loving care assists with community needs on a one-time or short-term basis through requests from local agencies.
Slightly off-key stringalongs (soks), a ukulele and singing group that entertains at assisted living and long-term care facilities in brunswick, new hanover, and pender counties.
