Operation school bell, clothes for kids.osb cfks provides new school uniforms to children in economic need. In fy ending 5/31/23 over 1895 items of clothing were provided to 1690 students. Items this year included school "spirit logo wear and more traditional uniforms. Cfk plus provided over 345 personal hygiene items and assisted 60 students in the richfield public schools through the target gift card program. Academic all starsaas awards elementary students in three schools achievement awards for reaching teacher-identified academic performance goals. This year 45 students received "all star" embroidered polo shirts, a wrist band and a self-photograph as special recog"program" - operation school bell clothes for kids and academic all stars expenses cfk $107,609; aas $4,141. Osb cfks continued the uniform bag delivery model of new school uniforms to 759 children. In fy ending 5/31/23 items of clothing were provided to 3169 students. Items this year included school "spirit logo wear and more traditional uniforms. A pilot project at riverview provided 222 students with a $100 voucher to purchase clothing at donald"s uniform store and $10,000 of "spirit logo wear". Emerson school as a new partner school received 2547 pants, 2762 shirts and1612 sweatshirts along with hygiene needs. Cfk plus provided $2000 to each of 8 partner schoosl with ancillary clothing and personal hygeine items. The target retail program assisted 80 richfield students in obtaining necessary school clothing. 771 pairs of pants and 407 shirts were donated to mary's place. Aas recognizes students for achievements reaching academic performance goals as determined by school staff in grades prek-5th. "program" - food for kids ffk distributes weekend food to students and youn adults experiencing foo insecurity. In 2022-23, 5,440 biodegradeable bags were packed and delivered to 170 recipients at 2 minneapolis public schools. Food was also provided to oasis for youth which serves students at risk of homelessness in bloomington, edina and richfield. In may, 2023, ffk gave a $15,000 grant to the every meal program to provide summer meals for students in our partner schools in minneapolis.
"program" - assault survivor kitsask provides new clothing and hygiene items to hospital ers statewide for survivors of sexual assault. Kits werecreated for women, men and children. In fy23, 805 assault survivor kits were sent throughout mn containing personal hygiene items and essential clothing. Ask partnered with a womens' shelter (sojourner project) and provided 70 welcome packs for children and requested items for women. In addition, they provided blankets and bedding to the mpls. Police sex crimes unit for victims from whom these items were taken as evidence. Ask partnered with a womens' shelter to provide essential hygiene and other items to women leaving abusive situations.
Literacy plus. Expenses $17,379. Lit plus "reading buddies" were back in-person reading to and engaging in educational activities with second graders at bethune elementary school this year. Over 321 students benefited from the receipt of 68 teacher-selected books. In addition, lit plus was able to fund print and on-line weekly social studies materials for bethune students.
Our school reads. Expenses $19,390. Osrs provides age-appropriate books and educational materials to preschool children and elementary students. Over 480 books were provided to students aged 3-5 years of age. 900 books were provided to 870 elementary aged students in three public schools. A new partner this year was anishinabe academy, a school dedicated to indigenous curriculum.
Assault survivor kits. Expenses $19389. Ask packs essential clothing and hygiene items for sexual assault survivors throughout mn. This year they packed 690 kits with essential clothing and hygiene items for women, men and child survivors. They provided blankets and bedding at the request of the mpd. In addition, they partnered with a women's shelter in the western hennepin co suburbs to provide essential items for women and their children leaving abusive situations.
