Program areas at Association of Black Cardiologists
Continuing medical education - organization sponsored continuing medical education symposia and regional programs on the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease for health care professionals. Additionally, the abc clinical trials network (abc ctn) provides investigators from multiple specialties with umparalleled access to clinical studies of interest while offering industry "one-stop" access to multiple investigators that ascribe to the same standard of clinical trial conduct.
Access to care and treatment initiative - organization is working at the local, state, and federal levels to eliminate disparities in cardiovascular disease and stroke in blacks and other minorities. Organization endeavors to be a leading authority for policymakers on issues that impact the practice of and access to cardiovascular care in all populations, including by advocating for initiatives and programs focused on education, prevention, and treatment.
Spirit of heart community programs - organization sponsored community programs that encourage community wide participation in heart disease prevention, education, detection and lifestyle changes that can improve the cardiovascular health status of all communities, primarily those with a majority of african american residents who remain at higher risk for heart disease and stroke when compared to white americans.
