Program areas at Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions

Membership: the Association serves more than 120 universities and employers focusing on critical issues affecting Health Professions education. Members benefit from networking opportunities with leaders in Health Professions education and practice. Members participate in advanced professional development activities with prominent speakers in the field of Allied Health education. Members can be involed with timely research and other projects having an impact on Allied Health education, research and service delivery. Membership services include providing a membership directory, subscriptions to trends and the journal of Allied Health, and special reports on topics of interest to members related to the field of Allied Health education. Membership provides opportunities for leadership and professional development. Members and the generall public can access information online at the organization's website: www.asahp.org.
Public affairs: public affairs activities of asahp include keeping members informed regarding federal agency grant and contract opportunities, legislative developments, and calls for nominees to participate in governmental advisory groups and commissions. The Association educates and informs congress and federal agencies of the importance of the involvement of Allied Health Professions in developing solutions to Health workforce challenges and problems.
Annual conference: representatives from from more than 250 institutions participated in the 2023 asahp annual conference, which provided attendees with the opportunity to network with professional colleagues and exchange current information related to the field of Allied Health education. Attendees participated in three plenary sessions and ten concurrent sessions on emerging issues relevant to improving the quality of Allied Health education, as well as committee/task force meetings, a business meeting, dean's council meetings, faculty meetings and a dinner/awards ceremony recognizing achievements in the field of Allied Health education.
Scholarships and grants
Journal of Allied Health: the journal is the interdisciplinary Allied Health periodical, publishing scholarly works related to research and development, feature articles, research abstracts and book reviews. Readers of the journal comprise Allied Health leaders, educators, faculty and students. Subscribers to the journal consist of domestic and international college and university libraries, Health organizations and hospitals.
