The Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation supports Afrd in saving lives and property by providing essential equipment, training, and community engagement. Cultivating the next generations of firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics remains a top priority for afrf as a funding organization. To address this, fire industry youth pathway programs are offered. The purpose of the Adopt a Fire Station program is to partner with the community to provide basic enhancements to support a Fire station's public service capabilities, features, and equipment - from office to kitchen to outdoor equipment.

Program areas at Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation

Fire industry youth pathway programs.at a time when the day-in-life of a firefighter has never looked so different, cultivating the next generations of firefighters, emts and paramedics remains a top priority for afrf as a funding organization. To address this, workforce development programs, or youth pathway programs, have been developed and funded for youth pathways. Aligned with Atlanta public schools and the united way of greater Atlanta, the youth pathway programs are proving instrumental in the effort to recruit and train prospective firefighters and sustain a world-class pool of first responders for Atlanta.
The purpose of the adopt a Fire station is to partner with the community in a collective effort and to provide basic enhancements to support a Fire station's public service capabilities, features and equipment. From office to kitchen to outdoor equipment and supplies including computers, dishes and lawn mowers, the partnership provides the essentials to operate a modern and efficient neighborhood Fire station.
The Atlanta Fire Rescue tuition assistance program provides tuition reimbursement to afrd members of up to $3,000 per year for any degree program from a regionally accredited college or university. Since its inception in 2016, the tap program has provided over $100,000 in tuition assistance to participants.
All other accomplishments - other programs include affordable housing assistance, recruitment campaign, paramedic program, flashover training, and community engagement through Atlanta emergency preparedness institute, Atlanta community emergency response team and camp ignite.
