The organization is accredited by the joint commission on accreditation of healthcare organizations and has been committed to serving the healthcare needs of Davie county since 2013.during tax year 2022, the hospital facility had approximately 4,900 patient days, with approximately 1,800 inpatient admissions, 5,300 outpatient or cases and 26,200 emergency room visits.the organization provides numerous resources, activities, and programs to serve the Health needs of its community. These programs include:- besthealth - a community wellness outreach program of ahwfb offering Health seminars, screenings, cooking and fitness classes, online Health resources and a membership program with special benefits. There are two faithhealth connectors in Davie county that serve marginalized populations and give voice to Health disparities in the communities surrounding ahwfb-dmc. - caregiver academy - a program offering free classes to educate the community on how to prepare for caregiving and provide assistance for loved ones, including finding the right resources, being your own Health care advocate, and dealing with the paperwork and financialburdens.- nursing apprenticeships - in 2021 the filing organization, Atrium Health lexington Medical Center (lmc) and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist (ahwfb) entered into a partnership with davidson-davie community college to help improve the nursing shortage affecting Health care systems in the region. The program is the first registered nurse apprenticeship program in north carolina to be approved by the department of labor. In 2022, the filing organization, lmc and atwfb entered into a new partnership with davidson-davie community college to create the largest healthcare apprenticeship program in north carolina. Students will be able to work in a healthcare profession while taking courses related to their career goals. Courses are available for the following healthcare professions: Medical assisting, Medical laboratory technology, nursing, licensed practical nursing, pharmacy technology, central sterile processing, surgical technology, and nurse aide. This partnership builds off the success of the 2021 collaboration between davidson-davie and Wake Forest Baptist to launch the state's first registered nurse apprenticeship program. This new collaboration expands apprenticeship opportunities to other critical healthcare fields. This unique partnership not only offers structure that supports and grows the pipeline of Health care learners but affords the unique opportunity to engage in new thoughts regarding models of care design and leverage the academic learning healthcare system.in addition to community programs, the hospital regularly reinvests funds in Medical technologies and state-of-the art equipment to better meet the Health needs of the community. Ahwfb-dmc received several awards, accreditations, and acknowledgements during the calendar year, as follows:- named a top general hospital nationally by the leapfrog group, a Health care safety and quality watchdog organization. This recognition is in addition to the 'a' grade the hospital recently received in leapfrog's fall 2022 hospital safety grades.- named as a best hospital in america by money, formerly known as money magazine. Only six hospitals from north carolina were included in the list of a total of 148 hospitals.- named the number 1 patient pick by business north carolina magaine with a patient score of 91%. The rankings in the state are based on the percentage of patients who would recommend the hospital to others.- received accreditation from the college of american pathologists, the world's largest organization of board-certified pathologists and a leading provider of laboratory accreditation programs.
