Program areas at The Audre Lorde Project
Education recruited over 350 new members and reached 1,800 people through a wide range of activities, including events such as essential stories, spaces to discuss racial violence and solidarity, and pozitively resilient, on The history of hiv organizing in poc communities held critical community forums, such as an lgbtstgnc poc event on policing and emergency services and engaged in national movement building through participation in national conferences, trainings, and movement advancement organizing.
Training trained over 100 lgbtstgnc poc to be leaders for their communities through alps organizing and leadership trainings, including our organizing training, daring to be powerful, and alps interpreter training for lgbtstgnc immigrants of color continued 3rd space support health and wellness collective, a group of healing practitioners who strive to offer accessible and sliding-scale wellness services to alp members and The larger lgbtstgnc community and coordinated continual trainings and political education workshops.
Organizing research we held 4 quarterly community forums, workshops and skill shares on various topics related to community accountability and transformative justice alp participated in The city-wide police accountability campaign, communities united for police reform, and we co-coordinated actions against state-sponsored racial violence.
