The Austen Everett Foundation empowers kids in their fight against cancer through the strength and support of professional and collegiate athletic teams by providing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be the Honorary Team Captain (HTC). Within the HTC program, a kid battling cancer joins the team on the field or court for pre-game practice, receives a personalized team jersey, visits the locker-room, walks on the field or court with the team, and watches warm-ups from the players bench. They also have their name name featured on the Jumbotron, call the captains coin-toss, receive autographed team gear and event photos while their family enjoys VIP game day treatment. The fight against cancer effects the whole family and AEF is proud to include the siblings of cancer fighters in these special events. Our goal is for kids battling cancer to feel supported, uplifted and optimistic throughout their event and beyond. We want each kid to benefit from the inspiration and support of these powerful experiences and to empower their resolve to fight and provide renewed strength to carry with them throughout the duration of their treatment.
