Program areas at Asian American Resource Center Inc Austin Asian Community Health Initiative
Our program provided 449 clients and their families with navigation support in nine languages (Arabic, Burmese, Chinese, English, Korean, Nepali, Hindi, Vietnamese, & Tedim). More than 80% of clients indicated improved health navigation skills at the end of the year, and 96% of program clients received or maintained health insurance with AACHI's assistance. The program team also organized outreach and events to provide language-accessible resources to our client's communities. Our Community Health Fair, centering refugees from Myanmar, Nepal, Syria, and Iraq, provided free health resource information, screenings, and vaccinations to over 300 people. We also held flu and COVID-19 education and vaccination through community-specific, language-accessible pop- up events. Our team has helped over 350 individuals access COVID- 19 vaccinations and boosters by providing interpretation, translation, and transportation, and 86% of CHN program clients reported vaccinating against COVID-19 (partially, fully, or boosted). Our team organized 20 educational outreach events, developed and distributed COVID-19 educational materials in 8 different languages (English, Arabic, Burmese, Chinese, Korean, Nepali, Hindi, Vietnamese), and completed more than 50,000 touchpoints with the AAPI community and community partners.
