Program areas at Autism Pensacola

Kids for camp is an intensive educational opportunity for skills acquisition and positive behavior support based on the principles of applied behavior analysis. Approximately 72 campers (age 2-25) work on their assessed individual needs in communication, social and vocational skills in both classroom and community settings while having fun with their peers. 54 educators learn best practice skills and carry them back to the classrooms accross our area. Profect lifesaver in partnership with escambia search & rescue features tracking bracelets for individuals who are at risk of wandering away. In addition, we offer training classes of all types for community first reposnders on effective interactions with those with Autism. See schedule o. Autism Pensacola improves the lives of those with Autism through member services which includes: peer guidance/information via phone and in person regarding area resources and school services. Support for awareness in schools & community. Occasional community trainings and special events, including partnering on events accross the community to increase Autism acceptance. Resource fair attended by over 32 organizations and over 70 families. Childcare events in partnership with local churches & agencies. Promotion of both our events and those of related agencies via website and social media. Variouis social events attended by numerous families and community members. Monthly grandparent group meetings (averaging 6 attendees). Christmas party, respite and support programs in partnership with other organizations.
