Awaken Pittsburgh fosters well-being, empathy, and compassion for all by teaching and encouraging mindfulness and meditation practices. Our pre-k centers program builds organizational support while training professional staff in mindfulness practices for their own health and wellbeing. Additionally, our introductory programs are designed for educators, institutions, early childhood centers, public safety and helping professionals, workplace wellness, and anyone who experiences stress or burnout through a flexible 9-session training course.

Program areas at Awaken Pittsburgh

Adult programing: our introductory programs are designed for educators, institutions, early childhood centers, public safety and helping professionals, workplace wellness, and anyone who experiences stress or burnout. This flexible 9-session training course adapts to your unique setting and schedule and introduces essential mindfulness practices to strengthen social and emotional regulation, reduce stress and burnout, and increase wellbeing. Our courses can be adapted to meet your specific setting and scheduling needs. We also offer information sessions, retreats, wellness sessions, and more advanced courses that teach how to deliver trauma-sensitive mindfulness to others, how to work with biases through mindfulness, and how to create a trauma sensitive organization. Awaken Pittsburgh reached 3,704 people in 2023 total through presentations, outreach, programs, open meditations and other offerings.
Introductory presentations, workshops on mindfulness and/ or meditation: Awaken Pittsburgh offers individual coaching, workshops, introductory presentations, guided meditations, day-long retreats, and wellness sessions for groups.
Family & child centers: Awaken Pittsburgh offers pre-k centers a three-part program that will start with building organizational support and training professional staff in mindfulness practices for their own health and wellbeing by presenting the mindful connections for educators. Once the staff has established a base of practice and understanding for themselves, Awaken Pittsburgh will work with staff to implement mindfulness with children and families served through our mindful connections for supporting families. Finally, we can offer a program that integrates mindfulness into work with parents and children through mindful connections for families. This will also serve as a way for staff and families to begin to see how to integrate mindfulness into their daily work and lives.
