Baby University empowers low income parents to take an active role in their child's development and education by equipping them with best parenting practices. The evidence-based nurturing parent curriculum is used in Baby u classes to educate parents. Family literacy is increased through reading workshops and provision of books for home libraries. 90% of Baby u participants report never having read to their children prior, but after attending, 89% read to their children more than six times per week.

Program areas at Baby University

Baby University's primary objective is to educate low income parents on best parenting practices. The Baby u class uses the evidence based nurturing parent curriculum to educate low income parents in parenting best practices while connecting them to much needed community resources. The graduate class offers Baby u graduates the opportunity to return for further education in financial literacy, parenting skill and building resources to get out of poverty. They increase their parenting skills by 40% in pre and post testing.
Baby University connects families to important and necessary social services. 100% of Baby u graduates have been connected to some kind of social service with at least 3 one on one home visits.
