coincides with Earth Day activities in Mitwaukee. Our participants team up with Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful and pick up garbage along the parkway and from the areanearthe Root River
This event is held in the Northern Kettle Morain unit of the State Forest. it is a hike from Greenbush to Mauthe Lake State Park over ‘a weekend. It can be hikded as a backpack experience or training hike or as a day hike withday packs “his hike follows the Ice Age Trail through the state forest from Greenbush Group Camp to Long Lake State park on Saturday and from Long Lake camp ground to Mauthe Lake state park on Sunday ‘Along the way, participants are given information about how the area was formed, how to properly prepare for and complete the hike by working as a team. Several Boy Scout units use this hike as preparation for attending the Boy Scout Jamboree or ‘Kiondik events
“This évent is held al Devil's Lake State Park in Baraboo, Wi. it began as the inagural hike held using the biuff ails opened in Participants camp in the part, hike both bluff trails on Saturday. Saturday evening, a DJ hosted record spin and a separate DJ dance ‘are held for participants - who come from ail over Wisconsin, Minnesota, lowa, and lllinols - to mingle and share experiences or our groups can choose to stay at their campsite and work on skills they need to become better outdoors people “Checkpoints are set up along the trails to make sure each attendee is accounted for and foliowing the proper trails. Checkpoint ‘Staff also pass on their knowledge of the part and geological activity of the area as well as the vegetation that fs native or invasive
