The Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial Association's mission is to create and oversee a permanent memorial at the site where the Japanese Americans of Bainbridge Island were forcibly exiled during World War II. The association has built the Exclusion departure deck at the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial (BIJAEM), which will evoke emotions and serve as a poignant addition to this historic site.
