Balon USA provided 8 weeks of soccer programming to 1031 students over the spring and fall seasons. 62 teams of 12-18 3rd-5th graders practiced soccer after school twice a week and had Saturday games for 8 weeks during the spring or fall season. 228 parents participated in one or more of our 12 social emotional workshops throughout the year. The "Social Emotional Support in Sports" workshop was presented by local psychologists and social workers, and parents learned about child brain development, how to be a positive support for their child. The "Second Goal Parent: Developing Winners in Life through Sports" was presented by the Positive Coaching Alliance and the workshop helped parents focus on the second goal, ensuring their children gain the higher value of youth sports regardless of scoreboard results. 286 students in summer clinics honed their soccer skills as part of other summer activities at Adams 12 PEAK schools and through the Edgewater Collective in Jefferson County.
