Program areas at Baltimore Squashwise

Squashwise partners with Baltimore's youth and families to advance equity in squash, education, and personal development opportunities. We are a dedicated agent of change providing a place where students reach their academic, athletic, and life goals and where the squash community becomes more accessible and welcoming for all.
The heart of the Squashwise program is the creation of long-lasting relationships between students and staff which build confidence, positive decision-making, and self-efficacy. The primary outcomes include promotion to academically rigorous high schools, on-time graduation, college matriculation, stable employment, and achievement of a post-secondary degree or certification in a chosen trade. In most years, more than 80% of Squashwise graduates have matriculated to college, in comparison to 45% of their peers in Baltimore city public schools. Our middle schoolers routinely out-perfom their peers at school, and more than 85% of our students gain entry to selective public and private high schools each year. Students also travel across the region for squash tournaments, summer camps, and college visits, expanding their horizons and building their athletic and academic experiences.
