Program areas at Bandera Natural History and Art Museum
The Museum is an organization formed for charitable and educational purposes. It operates as a wildlife Museum that contains displays of exotic animal mounts from around the world. Children, as well as adults, enjoy this experience. In 2021 we began proudly displaying our new spain Art collection to the public. The educational value of this rare collection cannot be overstated. It has expanded our offering to a larger audience of educators, historians and History buffs. As word continues to spread, we anticipate admissions to the Museum will continue to increase.
The Bandera Natural History Museum enjoyed a great 2016 which was our first year of operation. The Museum opened to the public on june 18, 2016. By december 31, 2106, we had welcomed over 8,000 visitors. Approximately 1,100 admissions were comprised of school groups and title one students. During our first year, we established our website and social media positions. In addition, we hosted numerous birthday events on our premises.
The Museum features a program referred to as sensory safari which provides the opportunity for vision impaired youth and adults to touch will amnimal mounts to "feel" their body shapes and structure at no cost to the participants.
Supports title 1 school district and special needs youth by discounting attendance price.
The money received as admissions and membership directly support the Museum by paying for operating costs of the organization.
Other income was a reconciling adjustment on bank reconciliation for current year.
