Provide for charity care and benevolence to the patients and employees of the brookwood Baptist Health system who have demonstrated need for financial assistance. The Baptist Health Foundation provides grants to nonprofit entities with similar missions and values for various healthcare needs. During the current year, the Foundation awarded $440,000 to 40 different nonprofit entities. See schedule i for those entities greater than $5,000 individually.
Provide assistance for charitable programs of the brookwood Baptist Health system to improve patient care and education of residents in central Alabama. During the year the following funds were used to support programs within the brookwood Baptist Health system.$641,084 pastoral care - christian art, chaplain support, education and bibles $138,011 hospital support- nic view cameras and other$ 11,322 support of medical education$ 1,636 patient and employee support programs - Health fairs, etc.$792,053 total
The Baptist Health Foundation provides scholarships and programs for students who have either shown an interest in healthcare or are currently pursuing a degree in healthcare as well as provides funding for employees and community members to participate in mission trips with local churches or as part of medical missions with local physicians.$ 24,750 samford school of nursing scholarships (8 scholarships)$ 16,500 medical mission trips$ 41,250 total
