Although reimbursement for services rendered is critical to the operation and stability of Baptist Medical Center - Leake, Inc., it is recognized that not all individuals possess the ability to purchase essential Medical services, and further, that the mission of Baptist Medical Center - Leake, Inc. is to serve the community with respect to providing health care services and health care education. Therefore, in keeping with its commitment to serve all members of its community, Baptist Medical Center - Leake, Inc. Provides the following:- free care and/or subsidized care where the need and/or an individual's inability to pay coexist,- care provided to persons covered by governmental programs at below cost, and- health activities and programs to support the community.these activities include wellness programs, community education programs, special programs for the elderly, handicapped, medically underserved, and a variety of broad community support activities.baptist Medical Center - Leake, Inc. offers acute care and swing bed, as well as mri, vascular ultrasound, echocardiography, wound care and podiatry services. The hospital's level iv emergency room is staffed by qualified physicians and ancillary staff. Family health care services are offered from three clinic locations in walnut grove, Mississippi and carthage, Mississippi. A senior life intensive outpatient program provides support and treatment for adults over age 55 with emotional or mental difficulties. A swing bed program offers a much needed service for patients who no longer need acute hospital care, but do need skilled nursing or therapy care to complete their recovery.baptist Medical Center - Leake, Inc. Recorded 37,600 hospital patient visits during its 2023 fiscal year. This consisted of 612 inpatient discharges with 5,058 days of care provided, 25,952 outpatient visits, and 11,036 emergency room visits. Provides care to persons covered by governmental programs from which the hospital receives payment at less than market value reimbursement. Recognizing its mission to the community, services are provided to medicare, medicaid and uninsured patients. To the extent reimbursement is below cost, Baptist Medical Center - Leake, Inc. Recognizes these amounts as charity care in meeting its mission to the entire community.charity care is also provided through many reduced-price services and free programs offered throughout the year based upon activities and services which Baptist Medical Center - Leake, Inc.
