Baptist Memorial hospital-huntingdon, Inc. (d/b/a Baptist Memorial hospital-carroll County) provides quality medical health care regardless of race, creed, sex, national origin, handicap, or age. Although reimbursement for services rendered is critical to the operation and stability of Baptist Memorial hospital-huntingdon, Inc., it is recognized that not all individuals possess the ability to purchase essential medical services, and further, that our mission is to serve the community with respect to providing health care services and health care education. Therefore, in keeping with its commitment to serve all members of its community, Baptist Memorial hospital-huntingdon, Inc. Provides the following:- free care and/or subsidized care where the need and/or an individual's inability to pay co-exist,- care provided to persons covered by governmental programs at below cost, and- health activities and programs to support the community.these activities include wellness programs, community education programs, and programs for the elderly, handicapped, medically underserved, and a variety of broad community support services. Baptist Memorial hospital-huntingdon, Inc. serviced 1,267 inpatients, and provided more than 26,636 outpatient registrations during the fiscal year ended september 30, 2023.during the fiscal year ended september 30, 2023, Baptist Memorial hospital-huntingdon, inc.'s program services produced the following results, including our senior care unit, which is a geriatric behavioral care unit that we opened october 1, 2015:- skilled nursing had 6,351 patient days at a cost of $3,357,564.- the pharmacy department dispensed 140,394 doses of medication at a cost of $1,381,997.- the radiology department performed 27,123 procedures at a cost of $2,105,676.- the rehabilitation department had 46,996 time units at a cost of $1,143,628.- the laboratory department performed 69,744 procedures at a cost of $1,327,820.baptist Memorial hospital-huntingdon, Inc. Provides care to persons covered by governmental programs from which the hospital receives payment at less than market value reimbursement. Recognizing its mission to the community, services are provided to medicare, medicaid, and uninsured patients. To the extent reimbursement is below cost, Baptist Memorial hospital-huntingdon, Inc. Recognizes these amounts as charity care in meeting its mission to the entire community. During the fiscal year ended september 30, 2023, the unreimbursed value of providing care to these patients was $86,299,559.charity care is also provided through many reduced-price services and free programs offered throughout the year based upon activities and services that Baptist Memorial hospital-huntingdon, Inc. Believes will serve a bona fide community health need. Baptist Memorial hospital-huntingdon, Inc. has provided a number of services in the community, some of which include the following:- developed newspaper articles that provide the public with ongoing medical care information.- developed a billboard ad providing the public with medical care information.- developed radio ads to keep the public aware of medical updates and services information. - maintained a facebook page for providing the public with ongoing medical care information, education, services, observances, sponsorships, and donations.- provided gift/service recovery items for the enhancement of customer satisfaction.- administered sports physicals for over 200 student athletes in the Carroll County area. - conducted community health education to the general public through speaking events.- provided screenings for our industrial workforce. - sponsorship of our County schools and bethel university.- participated in community health fairs.- participated in community career fairs.- provided screenings at community offices on aging centers.- provided access to healthy food.- support of economic development in the County.- leadership development for students interested in a health care career.baptist Memorial hospital-huntingdon, Inc. also participated in the following:- hosted a speakers' bureau composed of hospital physicians, management, and professional personnel, consisting of health care related topics throughout the year to clubs, groups, organizations and schools.- provided consultation and assistance to the elderly population regarding medical bills/education.- participated in community health fairs, career fairs, and conferences. - sponsorship of alzheimer's association of Tennessee.- hosted numerous tours of all departments for Carroll County high school students.- participated in the Tennessee department of mental health and substance abuse training session.- provided cardiac health education and giveaways for heart health month.- provided ehac education, along with "hands only" cpr.- collaborated with priority ambulance and let students tour the units.- hosted the red sand project in an effort to educate and raise awareness on community safety and human trafficking.- sponsorship of habitat for humanity.- provided job shadowing (on-the-job observance program) for prospective medical career students.- served as a training site for several local colleges and universities for health care careers (i.e., rn, lpn, ems, pt, pta, radiology, and pharmacy).- "survive!
