Program areas at Baraga County Community Foundation
(Dr. Louis and Ann Guy) Baraga County Extended Care Corporation is a non-profit, 59 bed, long term care and rehabilitation center which has received a grant from a Fund established for the provision of its services, for the purchase of five new and adjustable beds.
To develop youth for leadership by increasing their capacity for participation in society by providing them with education and resources to target the needs of the youth in their community through the the development of power point presentations and through the selection and engagement of school assembly speakers targeting immediate area youth needs such as substance abuse, suicide prevention, anti-bullying education, encouragement and self-esteem, etc.
Scholarship Awards for higher education of students of Baraga County attending Michigan Technological and Northern Michigan University, the University of Michigan and Bay College, respectively, and who will be majoring in the studies of General Engineering, Business Administration, Pre-Nursing, Movement Science, and Elementary Education, also respectively.
Grant award for the purchase of local Fire Department equipment.
