Program areas at Barnes-Jewish St Peters and Progress West Foundation
The Barnes-Jewish St. Peters and Progress West Foundation provided support for our patients in the form of: prescriprtion support for those who may not be able to afford much needed medications; transportation support to make sure that those patients without transportation can get to and from their medical appointments; highly expensive medical devices such as life vests for those at risk of sudden cardiac failure, mouth and jaw protectors for patients recieving mouth and throat cancer treatments; utility support for patients in need; new baby support for families in need of car seats and formula; bike helmets for older children, and bereavement support for times of loss.
The Barnes-Jewish St. Peters and Progress West Foundation supported the local community by helping to fund educational engagements, health screenings and more. Through the Foundation's support, these opportunities are kept free to the public to help promote the health, healing and hope of our community. The Foundation also funded the purchase of the first therapy dog for the St. charles county police department, "millie", who helps support the mental and behavioral health needs of students all across St. charles county.
The Barnes-Jewish St. Peters and Progress West Foundation supported our hospital teams by providing support in the form of: nursing coats to distinguish our nursing leaders on the floors so patients and families can easily spot who the lead nurses may be, new staff lockers for our growing teams to foster a sense of belonging for our newest team members, bereavement support in the form of a small remembrance garden outside of Progress West hospital for patients and staff.
The Barnes-Jewish St. Peters and Progress West Foundation funds scholarships for patient care technicians as they aspire to further their career into nursing. The Foundation also provided technicians assistance to purchase uniforms, helping to keep their expenses low, as they embark on their healthcare career.
