Theatrical productions providing opportunity for artistic growth for theatre professionals such as actors, designers and directors. The organization offers the opportunity for young people seeking a profession in theatrical production such as set building and painting, costume construction, and sound/lighting technology to work with professionals in their field and expand their knowledge in preparation for a career in theatre production. The organization fosters the work of new playwrights in the commission of new works as well as allocating space in the season for full scale production of new plays.

Barrington Stage offers educational programs to awaken the minds, imaginations, and creative power of children, teenagers, and young adults by providing opportunities for them to experience the joy of live theatre as performers, writers, technicians, and audience members. The educational programs consist of the playwright mentoring project, musical theatre conservatory, professional internship program, youth theatre, kidsact! & teensact!, and student matinee/school residency program.
