Program areas at Battered Women's Justice Project
Training & technical assistance-bwjp provides training and technical assistance on related topics under national technical assistance cooperative agreements with federal agencies. Current grant activities address: parenting arrangements in custody cases involving domestic violence; defense based work for criminalized survivors of gender-based violence, reimagining coordinated community response, advocacy and systems change, improving responses for probation officers, and enforcement of existing domestic violence-related firearms prohibitions. In fy23, bwjp provided 4 trainings and 32 virtual consults, trained 3471 people, provided 2653 instances of technical assistance, and disseminated 7461 products.
Contracts for services-bwjp is available to provide training or consultations in our areas of expertise under contracts from local, state, military, or tribal jurisdictions, public agencies and organizations.
Resource centers-bwjp is the national resource center on civil and criminal Justice responses to domestic violence. Services include technical assistance to victims and professionals in the field, training, policy analysis, publications, and consultation on promising policies and practices in the field. Bwjp gathers relevant research and publications to stay updated on innovations and emerging issues in the field
