Bay Area Chapter of the Association of Black Psychologists

Our activities include influencing and effecting social change; and developing programs whereby psychologists of African ancestry can assist in solving problems of Black and other ethnic groups in our communities. We do this by developing funding sources for working capital, staff support, and educational programs and seeking funding for projects involving Black Psychologists. Such projects include, but are not limited to scholarly journals, training programs, recruitment of students and professional members. We support community mental health care programs through training, technical assistance and committee representation. We organize events aimed toward student recruitment and support, as well as, community gatherings. Our activities also include volunteering to write and share mental wellness tips and information via local publications.
