Bayhealth Medical Center, Inc. Provides a full range of patient care, emergency services, and wellness services. Bayhealth Medical Center is comprised of a total of 418 beds in two acute-care hospitals: Bayhealth hospital, kent campus in dover (266 beds) and Bayhealth hospital, sussex campus (152 beds). Bayhealth also has outpatient sites throughout the service area including Bayhealth Medical group employed clinician practices, walk-in Medical care, laboratory services, imaging services and other services. Both hospitals are level iii trauma centers. (continued on schedule o). They provide a full range of surgical and Medical care: radiation/ Medical oncology/ chemotherapy; infusion therapy; heart and vascular services; endovascular surgery; electrophysiology; ambulatory surgery; wound care; perinatology services; neurosciences; gastroenterology; and others. Kent campus has a level ii special care nursery.during the twelve months ending june 30, 2023, Bayhealth kent campus recorded 68,412 emergency room visits, 10,915 patients admitted to beds, 1,740 births, and 353,347 outpatient visits. Bayhealth sussex campus recorded 36,123 emergency room visits, 6,069 patient admissions, 801 births, and 206,623 outpatient visits. Bayhealth Medical Center Inc. Provided $82.4 million in unreimbursed care to patients.bayhealth has affiliations with penn medicine in cardiology, orthopedics and neurosurgery and is a member of the penn cancer network.bayhealth was the first teaching hosptial in central and southern Delaware introducing graduate Medical education in 2019. Since the program's inception, residency programs have been established for family medicine, internal medicine, general surgery, and emergency medicine adding access to patients across the region. In 2024, Bayhealth will welcome its first fellows in the hematology/oncology fellowship program ,the first of its kind in the state. In fy 2023, Bayhealth hosted students from vocational schools, community colleges, and universities for clinical rotations in nursing and other health professions.because the service area is deemed to be medically underserved, with a shortage of health professionals, Bayhealth actively recruits clinicians to the area. In addition, it owns and operates 44 physician practices in central and southern delaware.bayhealth has an active community outreach and education program, including health-related classes, support groups, free public screenings, free speakers for community groups, mobile care unit and representation at community events.bayhealth Medical Center, Inc.
