Program areas at BC Cares Educational Foundation
Community and family based activities/programsbc Cares has expanded to work in partnership with other nonprofits and organizations in bucks county to support the efforts of those with missions that align with BC Cares. This comes in many forms such as pop up booths, volunteer facilitator, mentorship, chaperoning events, leading youth events, resource drives (donations, monies), keynote speaking events, etc.bc Cares is working to revive the parent positive speaker series as a touring event that provides a free community resource to families. This series is meant to provide empowerment, education, and uplifting messages to families in their parenting journey.
School based activities/programsbc Cares has re-established the boomerang youth recognition awards that are designed to empower school age youth (k-12). The nominations are made by community members such as parents, coaches, teachers, support staff, mentors, etc. The youth that are chosen as boomerang winners are honored with a ceremony annually where they are given citations and accolades publicly. Every single nominee is provided with a certificate and voucher for a letter of recommendation from BC Cares in their future young endeavors. Every single nominee is eligible to apply for a boomerang scholarship when they come of age. In the 2022-23 school year, nominees came from five different school districts in bucks county and beyond.bc Cares has rebranded both the organization and the student led organization of BC Cares volunteer teens. BC Cares provides events where students may accumulate volunteer hours for their resume. The program is perpetuated by students and produces leadership opportunities on an ongoing basis.bc Cares is working to reinstate grants for teachers and students in search of funding for unique projects in their Educational journey.
