Bcdi - Colorado

The National Black Child Development Institute Denver Affiliate (BCDI-Denver) adopted the mission of our national organization to improve and advance the lives of Black children and their families through education and advocacy. Through the mission BCDI-Denver served children and families through direct services, policy, and advocacy. BCDI-Denver worked to expand from a local affiliate model to a statewide model to serve more children and families. BCDI-Denver conduced a statewide needs assessment, state blueprint, and community interviews. BCDI-Denver worked on statewide policy and advocacy in conjunction with over sixty state partners to pass several bills into Colorado law. The organization currently operates within four policy and advocacy coalitions that have positively impacted Colorado children and their families. BCDI-Denver conducted literacy focused programs on the ground including their Barbershop and Books, Watch Me Read Watch Me Succeed,
