Mindfulness Works Series - In partnership with Teton County Library, we launched a year-long schedule of monthly gatherings, facilitated by BJW trainers, that provide opportunities to practice together, share tools and experiences, and support one another in our efforts to bring mindfulness into our homes and workplaces. We know from experience that habits stick better when we learn together. These gatherings served 80 people and will help us build stronger relationships within the BJW community.Mindfulness-Based Attention Training for first responders and mental health and human services professionals - 80 people served - An eight-hour resilience and mindfulness training conducted in February with a month of coaching support during Zoom office hours facilitated by MBAT-certified local trainers and daily digital communicationContinued coaching and support following Mindfulness-Based Attention Training with the Jackson Police Department 40 people served - Ongoing interaction to provide support as department implements mindfulness practice into organizational structure.
Community Engagement:The Summit: Giving Rise to a Mindful Community - 250 people servedThe 2023 Summit took place June 13-15 at Center for the Arts. Our impressive speaker roster of nationally recognized leaders in the mindfulness arena academics, journalists, media executives, and community change-makers is a humbling demonstration that our mission to make mindfulness second nature here has attracted the attention of leading experts on community wellness and mental health. They came to meet the local leaders guiding our movement and to share the latest research, tools, and practical applications with us. In the weeks following The Summit, we hosted Dr. David Creswell for a follow-up Q&A on Zoom and the "A Team" from Holistic Life Foundation for a community mindfulness practice during a weekday lunch hour. Annual Digital Challenge: 1,100 people servedA January online challenge with daily motivational emails, and recorded and live guided practices, plus peer-to-peer support through a Facebook group.Speaker Series: 200 people servedAs part of this Community Foundation of Jackson Hole-supported program, Becoming Jackson Whole trainers introduced mindfulness exercises to Teton County law enforcement agencies, Teton County and Town of Jackson public works departments, Voices JH, the National Park Service, the Governor's Mental Health Summit, Teton County School District, Shooting Star, the Kiwanis Club, the Senior Center, and the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole.3rd Annual TRYathlon: Fitness for Body & Mind: 300 people servedA fun, free, family-friendly and bilingual program including mindfulness practice, all-abilities yoga instruction, mountain hiking, and more.Digital outreach | social media engagement: 1,600+ people servedOur online audience opened more than 350,000 emails, newsletters, and blog posts (of the more than 670,000 sent). More than 1,300 readers follow our social media accounts with nearly 500 instances of direct feedback on BJW digital content per month. Our most popular content, an automated mindfulness challenge, has been updated to allow readers to join it at any time.Community practice on Zoom: 140 people served Free guided mindfulness practices conducted each Friday morning, with more than 7,500 collective minutes of practice logged.
