Their mission is to educate and inform parents and others about available services and legal rights, aid parents in developing and coordinating activities on behalf of their children, and promote better services and programs for hearing-impaired children.

Program areas at Beginnings for Parents of Children

In fy 2024 parent educators provided support to 1324 Parents living in 89 of the 100 nc counties. They met with 800 families in their home to educate and empower them regarding communication options and educational services and assisted Parents with 378 school meetings to access appropriate services. We provided Parents with 386 parent guides "understanding your child's hearing loss," 75 "pathways to communications" videos and plus 854 informational brochures. All services and information is provided in english or spanish.
