Program areas at Bexar County Performing Arts Center Foundation Tobin Center for the Performing Art
The Bexar County Performing Arts Center Foundation was established to provide an exceptional home for the arts that promotes a diverse range of cultural, educational, and artistic experiences to improve the quality of life in San Antonio. In 2023, the venue welcomed approximately 265,000 visitors. The Tobin Center's community outreach programs provide free wellness classes, family movie nights, festivals, and other community events. In 2023, more than 8,000 people attended one or more of the 68 free events. The Tobins education programs reached more than 24,000 with school time and sensory friendly performances, artist interactions, and teacher professional development. Ballet San Antonio, Classical Music Institute, Children's Chorus of San Antonio, Opera San Antonio, and Youth Orchestra San Antonio - the Tobin Center's resident companies - were provided with free office and/or meeting space, ticketing services, volunteer ushers, and deeply discounted rental rates for events, rehearsals, and performances.
