Beyond Fences proactively reaches out to the community to build trusting relationships with families and honor people's love for their pets. Their outreach and wellness program provided veterinary appointments for 802 pets in 2022, while also providing dog food, indoor crates, collars & leashes, flea & tick medicine, and other supplies to over 870 families. Through their fence program, they built fences for 30 dogs in 2022 using welded wire and t-posts, each fence providing about 600 square feet of space for the dog who received it. Their volunteers supplied the labor to build the fences.

Program areas at Beyond Fences

Outreach & wellness programwe provided veterinary care to 1085 pets in 2023. We delivered dog food, crates, and other supplies to over 1,800 pets. We provided grooming for 40 dogs. We continue to provide access to resources for pet owners living in areas of our community where poverty rates are the highest and where pet owners have less access to pet resources.
Shelter intervention programthrough our shelter intervention program, we provide assistance to families facing housing insecurities, health problems, or financial problems to help them keep their pets as members of their families. In 2023, we paid pet fees to 22 landlords and covered the cost of shelter fees so 35 pets could be reunited with their families.
Spay & nueter programin 2023, we provided access to spay or neuter to 174 dogs and 108 cats. Each pet received vaccinations and a microchip with the spay/neuter appointment. We provided transportation to and from spay/neuter appointments through our volunteers and our transport van..
Fence programin 2023, we built 14 Fences for 35 dogs. Volunteers provided the labor for the Fences. Each was built using welded wire and t-posts and covered around 600 square feet. The Fences provide a safe enclosure for the dogs, as well as space for families to interact positively with their dogs.
