Beyond The Walls

Guatemala construction & support - as our partners and beneficiaries in guatemala were recovering from covid, we sent two small teams to work in the rural area of chiquimula, guatemala. We sent funding for, and our teams built a nutrition center on the property of our partner, potter's house, to serve under-resourced children and families. In addition, our teams fielded a vision clinic that was able to dispense prescription eyeglasses to members of the surrounding community and two medical clinics that treated a variety of medical conditions presented by community members.

Local support - due to covid restrictions, we were again unable to serve homeless local families as we usually do by housing them in our partner's offices. Instead, we were able to provide gift cards for gas and groceries for families housed temporarily in local motels. We also collected and sorted about 600 winter coats plus scarves, hats, and gloves donated by area churches and schools. Those were then donated to the market street mission, a nearby partner, for distribution at their annual coat giveaway in november.
