March to get screened (mtgs) is held every year in march to support colon cancer awareness! Mtgs festivities were held march 26, 2023 under the fuller warren bridge where we kicked off with our annual mtgs 5k/1 mile fun run. Mtgs is a fun family event filled with activities, challenges, live music, food trucks, and much more!what mtgs brings to the community:- raises awareness for colorectal cancer - did you know, 45 is the new 50?- provides colon screenings to patients who may not have the financial means to have one - we provide vouchers to our medical partners, allowing these patients to get screened!- provides financial assistance to patients newly diagnosed with colon cancer who meet poverty guidelines - we've reimbursed medical expenses for over 25 newly diagnosed cancer patients with the funds raised, because of you!financial assistance program for cancer treatment:thanks to generous support from the community, we created the financial assistance program to help cover various medical treatment expenses for people recently diagnosed with colon cancer.how it works:if you qualify, you are eligible to receive up to $5,000 per person, per year to cover gastrointestinal medical services. Medical charges are paid directly to your provider; so unpaidinvoices must be submitted with the program application. Who is eligible?to be eligible for financial help, you must be:- newly diagnosed with colon cancer- in financial need (must be under 350% of the federal poverty level)questions? The acceptance or rejection of any application to participate in the program shall be in the sole discretion of the Foundation regardless of qualification. If funding of the program is suspended due to lack of resources, applications will be placed on hold until further notice. Applications to participate in the program will never be denied because of race, color, religion sex age, national origin or marital status.the gut club shares information about the health concerns of our community through quarterly meetings and presentations provided by leading physicians throughout the world.
