Bhutanese Community Association of Pittsburgh

The organization accomplished the following major goals, in furtherance of its exempt purpose: 1)provided basic computer and electronic communication skills classes. 2)provided english language and citizenship preparation classes. 3)assisted Community members with their n-400, n-600 and i-485 forms. 4)provided driving lessons to women. 5)provided homework help and stem based instructions through our after school program. 6)provided Community gardening opportunities to promote social interaction among seniors. 7)provided mental health & first aid training. 8)conducted regular women support group sessions. 9)helped new citizens register to vote. 10)provided social services related assistance, completing public benefit applications. 11)organized and hosted events that provided emotional support and engagement. 12)made home visits and provided services to those who did not have transportation. 13) supported families with their rental fees and utility bills, especially single parents with children and those receiving eviction notices. 14)provided culturally sensitive family counselling to help resolve family disputes and reduce instances of domestic violence 15)assisted people in job searches. 16)made hundreds of referrals to outside service providers and coordinated services provision with them where appropriate.
