Program areas at Big Sky State Games
Montana Amateur Sports, Inc. Organizes and manages several events promoting montanans to be healthy and active. The Big Sky State Games, an olympic style sporting event with 36 different Sports, is held the third weekend in july and has 10,000 participants and 2,000 volunteers.
Other programs include shape up Montana, a team wellness program with 4,000-5,000 participants. Big Sky fit kids, a free youth fitness and nutrition program, has 20,000-25,000 participants. Yellowstone elementary school cross country meets with over 1,000 participants.
The heart and sole race has over 3,000 participants and 300 volunteers. The race includes a 2 mile walk, and 5k and 10k races. The run is held father's day weekend.
