Description
Food Security Hawaii supports and engenders education and research into sustainable farming practices to feed Hawaii's isolated population while sequestering carbon to help reduce global warming. One of its key strategies for long-term food security is Ohana Gardens, a county-wide backyard garden initiative that provides materials and support to help households grow more food. Food Security Hawaii also sponsors Nui Lani Farm Kilauea Disaster Recovery, which aims to restore the farm with grading, fencing, greenhouse restoration, road access, and crop restoration.
