Birthright Africa is committed to providing a free educational trip to Africa for every youth and young adult of African descent ages 13 to 30 in the United States. Three Birthright partner programs, including Jidenna's Black Highway, explore black/African culture and innovation. Birthright Africa signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ghana Tourism Authority to establish a long-term partnership. Jidenna's Black Highway explores black/African culture and innovation within NYC and provides orientation prior to travel to Ghana.

Program areas at Birthright Africa

Birthright's program team participation at the full circle Africa economic conference in ghana has successfully set up the organization to engage Birthright scholars in future innovation exploration on the continent to include conferences and summits.
Birthright Africa launched its virtual community on mighty networks to engage Birthright alumni from 10 education partners to continue building on connection to culture and innovation that centers their black/african heritage after returning from exploration in Africa: ghana, south Africa, and kenya. Focus on the virtual component of Birthright programming was prioritized in 2023 to start building the digital community for the 27,000+ registered Birthright scholars on the waiting list. Virtual exploration engages Birthright scholars in pre-travel virtual programming including black heritage self-exploration and cultural site exploration recorded and shared via online platforms including the Birthright Africa virtual community within mighty networks.
Birthright scholars explored nyc cultural heritage sites like the schomburg center for research in black culture and weeksville heritage site as well as centers of innovation like the urban tech hub company.
