Program areas at Black Girls Do Engineer Corporation

A community event to expose girls to STEM and understand all the STEM careers and industries that they can go in to. Program included STEM professional who spoke as panelist to inspire the girls to go into STEM careers.
1st Annual Black Girls Do Engineer Day Award Gala. The event honored black girls and women in STEM industries. Awards were given to women in STEM careers, students on the path to STEM careers, and outstanding volunteers.
Carbon Footprint Reduction Symposium Project. Partcipants will analyze their own carbon foot print based on their current lifestyle choices and develop a plan to reduce their carbon foot print. The high school participants will enter a competition in the Oil and Energy industry. The students will have eight to twelve weeks to shape their carbon reduction plan. The winning team will receive a scholarship. This project was able to help our girls use the engineering process to develop a symposium project based around research and findings for their topic. This project helped our girls prepare for the projects they would be exposed to in college.
