Program areas at Black Youth Leadership Project
The legislative open house provides students with a hands on look at the legislative process in the state of California. Encourages students to hone their Leadership, critical thinking, and public speaking skills using the art of persuasion to convince peers to vote for various bills that impact their communities.
Bylp advocacy services - this service is free of charge to families in the community. Provides assistance addressing complaints from families and helping them mitigate their issues with teachers, school administrators, and other district personnel.
Black graduation celebrations validates the Black student's accomplishments, presents them before the community to be acknowledged for their perserverance, and allows the community to come together in a display of love, unity, and support.
